Local Folks Foods was originally founded in an effort to utilize produce from Homestead Growers mushroom and produce farm. They, along with a cast of supporting friends, including local chefs, and family members, began creating and sampling food creations in 2006. Local Folks Foods has a simple mission statement: “To develop a diverse food line with an emphasis on using local, fresh, natural ingredients. Making a conscious effort to reduce the distances our food travels before consumption.”
